The Oldies

As most of you know by now, I'm absolutely in love with Iris Apfel. And recently, I've been really inspired by a ton of older ladies.

There are quite a few polished ladies who come into the store I'm working in and I have to say they've all got more style then most of the twenty-somethings I've seen recently! Then again, I've always liked a different look. Here are some of my favorite famous seasoned fashionistas:

Bianca Jagger! Still so cool after all these years.

Ines de la Fressange. In her hot pink apartment...doesn't get much cooler.

Miuccia Prada. Age-approps but still funky. IDOL.

Maybe I'll just start wearing Chanel suits and driving gloves and dye my hair grey. Maybe.

My Coffee Table

Since I've just moved, I'm looking for lots of stuff for my new living quarters! I really like the idea of using this coffee table from Wisteria (my fave), or something like it. There are tons of great places to shop for furniture in Little Rock so I'm excited to look around here.

And of course, with a new coffee table come new coffee table books!

These are the ones I'm jonesing for the most:

I have the other Kate books and I'd like to complete my set!

I am obsessed with the film (my mom and I call each other Big Edie and Little Edie...weird? whatevs)

duh.

Well, there you have it! Do you think Paul would agree with these choices? I've tried to introduce him to my interests (painting nails together, watching the Rachel Zoe Project over triple non-fat vanilla lattes) but none have stuck so far. Hmmmm.

What are your favorite coffee table books? Any further suggestions?

So Long California

Hello Arkansas!!

Yes, yes. Sorry for my recent dry spell in the blogging universe (bluniverse?)... but I have been quite busy! I have officially moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. I found a job at a fabulous French linen store and am just busy getting used to a new city! So far I love it. I can't wait to educate you party people all about The Natural State.

Anyway, everything is calming down so I should be back to my usual posting.

xoxo

PS come visit!!!!

Jaye's. I like it.

I had the pleasure of heading to Oxford this past weekend for the wedding of two good friends, Lindsey Phillips and Andrew Abernathy. I had way too much fun-- the whole thing was perfect!
While I was there, I also had the chance to pop into Elyncia Fine Jewelry, my former place of work, and my boss has just started to carry gifts...can't even tell you how obsessed I am. She ordered a bunch of Jaye's, which is all handpainted and just adorable. Here are some of my faves:

I love that orange! This is one of the "bedside" trays.

This is supposed to be for guest towels but wouldn't it serve as a fabulous soap dish or place to put letters?

A cute little caddy.

She's got tons of stuff in there and it's all adorable. If you're in Oxford, I would highly recommend stopping by for a looksy.

Another Reason to get the iPad

Correction: another reason I need the iPad. Aren't these Smythson of Bond Street cases that I saw on vogue.com totally all that? How much chicer could you get?! I am seriously jonesing for one of these bad boys.

Wisteria Antiques

I've been lucky enough to be at the beach with my family the last few days, and I am even luckier to have a mom who understands my antique-hoarding needs!

She treated me and brought me to my favorite antique store EVER: Wisteria Antiques in Santa Cruz.

It's all very French and all very gorgeous, and of course I could wander around for hours! It's set up like a house, with each room packed with goodies.

There's a kitchen area...

And a dining room/fireplace nook.

Then of course, la boudoir.

And everywhere you turn there's something fabulous to look at.

In one of my bedrooms I thought I had found my favorite thing:

It's a coffee table. Aren't you dying?? Wait, it gets better.

Here is its mother. I was losing it!! I need to have a little country cottage just for the purposes of housing this chaise.

In the end I made off with some Claus Porto soap, which is absolutely fabulous! Check it out, y'all.

The Love Lobster

O.M.G.

Pardon me if this post is brief--- I just don't have the words to describe how much I ADORE this rug from Anthropologie. I am so obsessed with it I have nicknamed it "The Love Lobster".

Basically, if I don't have it in my house I will have a nervous breakdown.

I've already gotten a cute little piggy bank for saving up for it!!

Any donations may be made to The Love Lobster Foundation, or you can just give me cash.

La Maison Ireland

I am totally in love with designer Kathryn Ireland. Her mix of california-cool and ethnic prints are the perfect fit!! Well, as I was browsing her website this morning, I discovered that her super-chic house in  France can be rented out for family vacations or special occasions!

My only problem....I don't want to rent it out...

... I want to move in!

Do you blame me?

A girl can dream!

Check it out here.

OR, better yet, buy her book on Amazon!
